Cook safely

If you're called away from the cooker - by the phone, say, or by someone at the door - take pans off the heat. It's the easiest thing in the world to forget about them.
  • Don't overload sockets - one plug per socket is the rule, especially if the appliance takes a lot of power (like a kettle).
  • Don't run extension cables across the floor as they can become worn.
  • Is the electric kettle leaking? This can be dangerous.

2 ts Black tea leaves*

1 1/2 c Vodka

1/2 c Sugar syrup (see recipe)

Steep the tea leaves in vodka for 24 hours - NOT longer as a bitter taste will occur. Strain and add sugar syrup. Age for 2 weeks. *Your favorite tea may be used for the flavor you desire and spices can be added as well. Yield: 1 pint Container: Quart jar
