As most people know, the low calorie diet is based on the fact that if you plan to get rid of some fat, the most important step is to take in less calories than you burn up.

The calorie defined?
The calorie is a unit for measuring food's ability to produce heat and energy. A 'calorie' is the the energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 degree centigrade at normal atmospheric pressure. If a food type has more calories, then it will will give you more energy to use when eaten.

Low calorie food types include celery, radishes, guava, steak and burger based meals, and bamboo shoots.

4 Kiwis; peeled and trimmed

Zest of 1 lime, slivered 3/4 c Sugar

2 tb Fresh lime juice

1. Quarter the kiwis lengthwise, and then cut them crosswise into 1/2-inch

cubes. 2. Combine the kiwis with all the remaining ingredients in a deep 2-1/2-quart microwave-safe casserole, and stir well. 3. Cook, uncovered, at

full power (650 to 750 watts) for 5 minutes. Stir, return to the microwave, and cook until thick, another 6 minutes. 4. Allow the marmalade to cool to room temperature; then cover tightly and refrigerate. It will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator. Makes 1 cup. Source: The New Basics Cookbook
