The Glycaemic Index Diet
The gi index diet system is linked to the gi (or glycaemic index), a chart showing food types and an indicator of the rapidity with which the glucose of the food type gets converted to sugar in the dieters body. The claim is that slow release types of food (ie those with a low Gi number), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help to consume less food without being miserabl;e.
It is also extremely effective for sufferers from diabetes, as the low GI food types are helpful in minimizing surges in blood glucose secretion.

1 large banana -- ripe

2 large large eggs

1/2 cup skim milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon

4 slices bread

3 tablespoons margarine

1/2 cup maple syrup -- warmed

Blend first 4 ingredients in processor til smooth. Transfer to 13x9 inch pan.

Place bread in milk mixture and soak til all liquid is absorbed, turning bread occasionally, about 20 minutes.

Melt butter in large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Add bread and cook til golden brown, about 3 minutes per side.

Serve; pass warmed syrup separately.
